- Biblical Greek: preparation for the exegesis of the New Testament in its original language, 12 hours
- Biblical Hebrew: preparation for the exegesis of the Old Testament in its original language, 12 hours

The bachelor of arts in sacred music is an undergraduate academic degree program designed for worship leaders, pastors, and musicians of the next generation.
Program Requirements
- Biblical Studies: the content of Scripture with principles for its sound interpretation, 24 hours
- Systematic Theology: the system of doctrine taught in Scripture, 24 hours
- Applied Music: private study on a student’s primary instrument (piano, organ, voice, or other instruments). Competency and placement auditions for entrance into the music curriculum will determine the level a student should reach over eight semesters, 20 hours
- Music Ministry: students will grow in spiritual formation and philosophical basis, along with skills, resulting in musical excellence. When applicable, students will be actively involved in music ministry in a local church as part of their training, 14 hours
- Ensemble and Individual Concentration: courses to allow the student to apply their music gifts by performing and application to specific areas of music ministry, 14 hours
- Music Theory: skill-based study of melody, harmony, rhythm, phrasing and form. Entry-level through advanced part-writing, sight singing, ear training. Comprehensive use of technology to enhance learning, 8 hours
- Biblical Theology: the progress of revelation from the “shadows” of the Old Testament to the “better things” of the New, 6 hours
- Church History: the key people, events, and ideas in the history of the church, 6 hours
- Music Survey: a survey of music’s role throughout the West since antiquity, with attention to philosophical and theoretical elements in music which reveal God’s sovereign purposes, 4 hours
